You have practiced in the surf, now its time to go beyond and explore the coast.

We will work on interpreting marine forecasts, planning a trip, finding suitable places to land and strategies for coastal paddling. We will also discuss risk assessment and challenge you to think about what if things do not go as planned. This course is intended to build your skills and confidence to help prepare you for open coast paddling.

Class Level For the competent Intermediate paddler looking to improve to advanced

Prerequisite: *Intro to Surf Zone class or equivalent experience is required. Paddlers should be prepared for and physically capable of a possible long carry with stairs or carts to the launch site.

Location: Because coastal conditions can greatly vary and we want to have fun, the location will be determined the week of the class to best suit conditions for the day. Possibilities include Cascade Head, Indian Beach, Short Sands Beach, Pacific City

Time: To secure parking we will meet at 8:30am

Cost $130 Plus 6% booking company fee. (Minimum enrollment 3 - Max 5 students)
