Rock Garden Skills & Safety

This is a great class that can be customized for your skill level and venue choice.

I have spent many hours paddling the rock gardens of the Pacific Ocean. And can determine, along with you, the venue that would work for your skill level and conditions. We will work together to help you understand why we are making these choices.

You will learn strategies for paddling within rock gardens, recognize areas to avoid, practice essential skills including self and assisted rescues within the turbulent water of a rock garden, and deal with scenarios that will put these skills into real-life settings. We will run pour-overs, enter sea caves (conditions permitting) and pass through natural arches.
